On April 26th, we had an awesome Island birthday party for Lydia. Her favorite book is Island of the Blue Dolphins, so she wanted to have an Island theme. At first it was going to be "Barbie, Island Princess", but she wanted to invite boys and I told her that boys might not want to come to a Barbie party. So then she said she wanted to make it "Barbie Island Princess/ Spider Man". I told her I wasn't going to buy two different themes of birthday supplies, so we settled for just "Island".
These are the island cupcakes I made with sugar cookie palm trees.
There were 10 kids including Lydia. There was supposed to be 11, but Madison, a little girl from Lydia's class had to go home because she was scared of Ryan's pony tail (that's a different story...).
Right around present time, Lydia siad she didn't feel very well. Then about 2 hours after her party, her and Violet began throwing up which lasted throughout the night. So far, Lydia has puked 3 out of 5 birthdays. I don't know what it is! The rest of us were fine. Poor girl!
She is so big now. She does so much more now that she's five. She is constantly reminding me that she is too!

oh this looks so pretty and fun! and what about the pony tail thing? you are so creative...i wish lydia could come to joel's party this saturday. sorry they were both sick! how yucky!
